How to Import Audio Files into the Rapchat Studio

Updated this week

You can import audio files directly into your Rapchat Studio projects — perfect for adding recorded vocals, ad libs, samples, sound effects, or anything else you’ve got saved on your phone.

How to import audio:

  1. Open or create a project in the Studio.

  2. Tap the + button to add a new track.

  3. Select Import Audio and choose a file from your device.

  4. After selecting your file, you’ll see a prompt asking if you want to sync the audio to your project’s tempo (unsure which option? Choose "Yes, continue")

🎵 Sync to Studio Tempo?

We give you a few options to control how your audio fits into the beat:

  • Yes, continue – Automatically adjust (warp) the file to match your project’s tempo. Best for loops and melodic samples.

  • Manually set tempo – If you know the BPM of your audio, enter it here so it syncs more accurately.

  • Import without syncing – Adds the file as-is. Good for FX, background sounds, or freestyle vocals.

Once added, your audio will appear as a new layer in the timeline — ready to trim, move, or stack however you like.

⚠️ Note: Importing audio files is currently available on iOS only. Android support is in the works!
