When considering distributing a song a second time or a new version of an already released song on Rapchat Distro, please be aware of our policy:
Single Release Rule: Each song can only be released once in its original form. If you want to release a significantly different version of the song, it must be classified as a remix.
Remix Releases: A remix involves substantial changes to the original track and can be released as a new version. This remix should have notable differences in elements such as arrangement, production, or additional features.
Resubmitting a release that was taken down
If you have taken a song down and want to put it back up, you can do that at no additional cost (you won't be charged a token)
Open the release
Tap on Submit to re-release it: Make any changes to the metadata and the song will go through inspection again
Replacing audio of an existing song
If your goal is to replace the original song with a new version (e.g., a remastered track), you need to follow these steps:
Takedown the Original: You must take down the original version of the song from distribution platforms first.
Upload the New Version: Once the original version has been removed, you can upload the new version as a fresh release.
Note about duplicate flags
Our system is designed to prevent duplicate entries. In some cases, it may flag your new upload as a duplicate of the original song. If this happens:
Notification: You will receive a notification that your song has been flagged as a duplicate and rejected during the inspection process.
Contact Support: If your song is flagged as a duplicate, reach out to our support team with details about the new version. We'll review the situation and manually approve the new release if it meets our criteria.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure a smooth process for distributing your music on Rapchat Distro and maintaining compliance with our policies. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please contact our support team.
